The Storm Before the Calm

We are broadcasting live from the Belgian village of Moere. Because our sleep is all screwed up, we got up at 3:30 this morning, packed up and hit the road at 5. We got here about 8 a.m.

Part of our trip was on a motorway with a posted speed limit of 130 km/h! And here, EVERYONE keeps to the right except when passing.

Stopped at a Dutch truck stop on the way early this morning. Fresh croissants and wonderful coffee greeted us. Moi actually did happy clapping as we walked in and she may have cried just a little out of sheer joy.

Today, we did grocery shopping and tried to track down a charger for the boys' Nintendo DS. Forgot to check before we left to see if they would work with 240V power over here. We had success in a town about 16 km away on the Belgian coast. The region's favourite potato chip flavor - paprika. We bought some but haven't tried yet.

Gale-force winds, rain and about 14C here. So at least we didn't waste a good weather day with our shopping and subsequent afternoon naps. The nice weather rolls in Thursday evening.
