Altitude: 37,000 feet. Attitude: not bad now, thanks for asking. Writing this shortly after take-off on Monday. Air Transat staff were great at check-in and boarding and we’ve been told there’s complimentary wine on the way. Unfortunately, the blankets aren’t gratis and the a/c is cranked, which will make it tough for the kids to get to sleep. And we need a bit of sleep at least considering we land at 3:30 am Victoria time. More later.
Landed to pouring rain. Waited a bit for the shuttle but got to our hotel fairly easily. And immediately went to sleep for a couple of hours. Got up about 5 pm Amsterdam time, just as our home exchange family was arriving at the same hotel. They're so nice!
And the kids became instant friends, even thought they don't speak each others' language. Seems 6-year-old poop-butt-fart talk is universal. They took us out for dinner - they're leaving early tomorrow for our place as we drive off toward theirs.
